Our principals are registered under the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act 2006 and our legal executives are registered with the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives.

Jeremy GoodwinPrincipal

Jeremy has practised law for more than 30 years. He has worked in Commercial, Property and Trusts, which are his primary areas of interest and specialisation. During his career he has worked with significant off-shore private client investors managing New Zealand based assets for them.

A founding partner in Brandon Brookfield, and former Managing Partner of Brookfields, he has acted as an independent trustee and company director for large, privately held investment companies. This involved establishing prudent trust investment structures, balancing the needs of beneficiaries, and problem solving.

He is strongly motivated to help clients to resolve problems and achieve fair outcomes in disputes.

His passion outside the office is golf. A recent golfing highlight was a hole in one at his home club, The Grange, on the 15th.

Ivan McIntoshPrincipal

Ivan has practised law for more than 18 years in the fields of Property and General Commercial Law. He specialises in all forms of property developments, including freehold and unit title subdivisions and construction, proportional ownership schemes and all forms of pooled investor fund projects and joint ventures.

Having also worked in-house with a listed investment property trust on various Auckland developments, Ivan has seen the legal coalface from both sides as an in-house counsel "client" and, for the past ten years, as a private practice lawyer with both a large Auckland firm and a smaller boutique practice.

Ivan has also acted for both borrowers or lenders, including major NZ trading banks, on property and commercial financing transactions.

Ivan's passion outside work is rugby, particularly following the exploits of his sons, or just settling back to relax with a book.

Clive CarterConsultant

Clive has over the last 40 years worked as a lawyer in Hong Kong and New Zealand. He is now a non-practising Consultant to the firm and was a founding partner of Brandon Brookfield and later, Brookfields. Clive is a member of the New Zealand Asia Business Council, and a past President of both the Newmarket Rotary Club and the Hong Kong New Zealand Business Association. He has just completed a term as an Auckland Regional Councillor.

For relaxation Clive enjoys the outdoors being a keen tramper and golfer. He and his wife Pat have five children, the youngest being Hamish, an Olympic gold medal winning triathlete.

Janet JarmanSenior Legal Executive

Janet has more than 25 years experience as a Legal Executive and joined Atmore Law as it was known then, in 1999. She is involved in private client property transactions, wills, estates and trusts including maintaining the gifting programme for the firm's trusts. Janet has also worked for law firms in Palmerston North, Mount Maunganui and Tauranga, as well as larger and smaller Auckland Law firms. Her past experience includes family, civil and company law.

In her spare time Janet plays golf and attends a gym to keep fit. She also enjoys reading and gardening.

Maureen BurtonLegal Executive

Maureen joined the firm in 2008 and has extensive legal office experience. She holds the NZLS Trust Administrator's Certificate and is a registered NZLS Legal Executive.

Maureen relishes snorkelling anywhere she can get to in the South Pacific. She is an active Toxophilite (archer) and an integral member of the infamous Massey Archery Club.

Grace WangAsian Marketing Manager

Grace is responsible for promoting the firm within Asian regions of mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and also New Zealand based Asian clients. She graduated from the Bachelor of Business Studies in double majors, Finance and Management 2006; and completed Postgraduate Diploma in Banking 2008 from Massey University. Now, Grace is in her final year completing a Master of Management major in Banking.

She joined the firm in 2007, and has many years experience in client management and liaison. Moreover, Grace is a formal member of New Zealand Chinese Youth Chamber of Commerce (NZCYCC).

Dian ZhangAsian Marketing Assistant

Dian is our Asian Marketing Assistant responsible for assisting our Asian Marketing Manager with client development and liaison. She graduated Bachelor of Business studies from Massey University in 2007 and continued to study the Post-Graduate Diploma in Business & Administration then she obtained a Master's degree of Management major in international business. Dian joined the firm in 2010 following a work experience visit to China.

Her interests outside the office are movies, music, reading and keeping fit.
